Music Ministry
Mission
Our mission is to create a welcoming space for all who come through our doors. With an emphasis on music, our Mass services are filled with inspiration and uplifting hymns. We invite our parishioners of all ages to become part of one of our music groups.
Volunteer Opportunities
We have a vast array of choirs, from the smallest of age to adults. Groups sing on a rotational basis at Masses throughout the calendar year. Our Sunday Mass at 4:30 pm usually features small groups or solos. We are always looking for new people to sing at our 4:30 Mass!
We also have a Hispanic singing group that plans and rehearses for Hispanic Ministry. The Hispanic Mass Sundays at 1:00 pm.
Below is a list of our groups:

Witness: Children in grades K - 5 are welcome to join! We practice Tuesdays from 5:00 - 5:45 pm right after Faith Formation class ends for the convenience of our parents. Because we follow the Faith Formation schedule, we begin in September and end in May. Witness sings once a month at the 9:00 am Mass.

Ascension: Children in grades 6 - 9 welcome to join Ascension! We are always looking for new members and children aging out of Witness are encouraged to continue in Ascension. Our practice schedule is determined by our participants - whatever works with their busy schedules! Ascension sings once a month at the 11:00 am Sunday Mass.

Genesis: Genesis members are ages 20 to 35; they are a small contemporary group. They do not rehearse but they play one Sunday per month at both the 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses. (Not accepting new members.)

Spirit: Open to anyone ages 20 through infinity! Rehearsals are Thursdays at 7:00 pm. They sing one Saturday and one Sunday morning (9:00 and 11:00 am Masses) a month. We always need vocalists!

Bethany: small group of adults (not accepting new members). They rehearse off-campus. They sing one Saturday and one Sunday morning set at the 9:00 and 11:00 Masses.

Sojourn: small group of adults that practice on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. They sing one Saturday and one Sunday morning set at both the 9:00 and 11:00 Masses.
Grace: small women's group plays on call, typically at the 11:00 am Mass on Sundays when the Witness group sings.
​
Coro Alabare' or Luz y Paz: children to adults at the 1:00 pm Bilingual Mass. Please see our Hispanic ministry at hispanicministry@stlukecatholicminthill.org.
Time Commitment
Rehearsals are listed above by group. We have a rotational schedule for Masses.
