Friendship Trays

Mission

Deliver meals daily to elderly, handicapped, and convalescing people who are unable or greatly restricted in their ability to prepare or secure meals.

Volunteer Opportunities

Friendship Trays began in 1976 to serve the homebound community. The hot, nutritious meals and interaction contribute to the health, self worth, independence and dignity of the individuals.

Time Commitment

St. Luke has covered Route 37 for many years.

Delivery is Monday thru Friday - year-round. You may volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or whatever day(s) fit YOUR schedule.

The meals are picked up at the Matthews Presbyterian Church (207 W John Street) in Matthews between 10:15 AM and 11:15 AM each morning. Directions and phone numbers are on the route sheet that accompanies the meals.

You may visit with the clients for a short time if you wish. Usually takes no longer than an hour.

Contact

If you are interested, feel free to contact SHARON HEBERT at friendshiptrays@stlukechurch.net or sign up with the calendar link below. The only requirement is a vehicle, a little time (generally an hour; once you know the route), and the desire to know you are helping people in our community.
