Music Ministry
(Commission: Worship and Spiritual Life)

Ministry Purpose:
To provide musical leadership at all liturgies and other services at St. Luke Catholic Church.

What We Do:
Our ministry has grown over the last ten years to a full array of choirs, from the smallest of age to adults. We have eight singing groups, all with names, and they sing on a rotational basis at liturgy throughout the calendar year. We also have a Hispanic singing group that plans and rehearses for Hispanic Ministry on their own, outside of the Music Director's influence. Our groups are: Wee Witness - ages 4 - 7; Witness - ages 8 - 12; Ascension - ages 13 - 19; Genesis - young adults (ages 20 - 35) Spirit - ages 20 - to infinity; Bethany - a small group of adults; Sojourn - a small group of adults; Grace - a small group of adult women, and the Spanish singing group that welcomes adults and children.

Ministry Roles:
Most all of our singing groups rehearse on a weekly basis. In addition to singing, the roles are to help select, plan and practice music for their liturgy or service. Roles also include helping to set up musical equipment, break down equipment following liturgy, and help keep music, books, equipment in good working condition.
